Incredible Menswear

This guy, Louis Marione, designer for label Dominic Louis is so fantastic and brilliant. This is the coolest menswear collection that I have ever seen. Granted, I don't spend a lot of my time looking at menswear, but I have seen my fair share, and this blows it all out of the water. It's highly conceptual and just plain awesome looking. I would want to be friends (at least) with any man who rocked one of these looks. He also has a downloadable lookbook for his Fall 2011 collection.

Leather pants? Check. Shirt with pocket for tie? Check. Surprisingly hot blonde hair? Check. Jute shoelaces? Check. Pile of rope? Check.
Who knew that this is all I ever wanted in a menswear collection?

Gorgeous.

Beyond Gorgeous. Multiple waistbands with belts? Sign me up please.

Then finish it up with a necklace made of screws and jute. Perfection.

Summer Sun & Swimwear

Well, with a trip to the lake on the horizon my thoughts turn to swimwear. Of course, your standard swimsuit is not interesting enough for my easily bored eye. So, when I found Australian swimwear line Seventh Wonderland, I was intrigued. Their Spring/Summer 2010 line in particular is great. Of course the runway looks are not the same looks that they sell on their website, but that's the price you pay for ready to wear.

This is absolutely stunning. It's innovative and interesting and flattering in all the best ways.

Not to be attempted by anyone with a hint of a bust or an extra ounce of fat, this swimsuit might not be practical for most, but it is so interesting I had to include it. The knotting detail is something I have a weakness for in all clothes. Definitely a suit I would take a second look at.

Much more figure friendly, this suit has both ruching and zippers! Yay! I am a total sucker for zippers.

Very flattering for small busted or wide hipped girls, this shows just enough skin to be sexy but is still modest. The print is nice and you can't go wrong with black and white.

Slightly more daring, but only slightly. It is deceptively revealing, showing skin without actually showing much. The detailing accentuates an hourglass figure, or creates the illusion of one.

Happy Around/In-Water-Time-Spending! Also, don't you love the hair? Kind of makes the whole look.

Festival Fashion, White Lace, and Pounds of Pastel!

A very dear friend of mine brought these adorable summer inspirations to me and I immediately ran for the blog!
To start our look, these great Lanvin flats are about $500 OUCH! But they're so irresistible I had to find an affordable double:

Although these cuties aren't an irresistible shade of turquoise, the dusty rose colour is totally summer appropriate. And at $14.80 Forever 21 has once again stolen my heart and my wallet.

Paint your piggies with these totally cute and summer ready shades!

Gemma Ward looks adorable in her lacy summer dress, adding this flower head band on the  right would be absolutely darling.

Finally, its summer, inevitably we will all be splashing around in the water. Why not cover up with this crochet dress when you're land bound?

A super lovingly charged thanks to Mariana and her stunning finds!
Te amo pulpita!

Fencing Fashion

Fencing is one of my many loves and when I stumbled upon some designers who had fencing inspired clothing I was immediately smitten. They are all different from each other which makes it all so great and I could definitely see myself trying to pull some of it off in my everyday wear. There are far too many great pictures to post here, so after each grouping I'll link to where you can look at everything in all its glory.
Designer Khaled El Masri - Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Rasmus Mogensen  (The last one makes me think of a mixture of fencing and Dr. House a little)

Honestly who wouldn't want such a fantastic sweatshirt with gas mask included? Pick me please!

Adieu,
Melissa

X-Ray Collection

So, this isn't going to come as much of a surprise but I am a total sucker for anatomy themed clothing. When I think of the merger between my two biggest passions, this is the collection that comes to mind. I know it's from a few years ago, but it is so stunning that I don't care. Ronald Abdala's AW 08-09 X-Ray Collection is genius. I will let the clothing speak for itself.

This is the dress that sold me on the collection. I am addicted to harnesses and other things of that nature, so this is totally appealing.

This is a less subtle anatomy reference. The anatomist is me is slightly irritated about the incorrect placement of the heart, but the fashion lover doesn't really care, and right now the latter is winning.

This is much more subtle, but sooo appealing. As someone who has actually seen a human ribcage, this dress is fairly accurate and evocative. I always feel awkward when anatomy makes me think of clothing I could make, and it makes me feel a little less weird when people with this kind of skill level see inspiration in the same places I do.

I will DIY this dress! I promise! At least the back part, which is everything I want in a spinal column. I even like how unfinished the edges are. Beautiful.

Holy Hernia!

Oh my SNAP ladies and gents! Have I found the spring 2010 ready to wear collection for you! Maybe I'm crazy to have never paid attention to this designer, but now I'm hooked.
I absolutely adore a distressed T. The designer has taken a new approach than just simple tears. The jacket to me is unnecessary. The T and the leather pants would be all I need to rock this look.
Alright so my Tomb Raider obsession may or may not be showing. But come on, how awesome would it be to strut into my 11 AM Psychological Disorders class in this number?
As a girl who LOVES to dress up this number immediately caught my attention. A little on the short side, I tend to look for shorter dresses. This one I like because it shows the perfect amount of skin, in a glittering black gold metallics. YUMM

Introductions continued...again...

Hellos everyone, Melissa present (finally) -

In high school I was the person who wore very worn in jeans, one of my cross country or track tee shirts, tennis shoes, and  a pull over hoodie everyday. Fashion was not really my thing, I was too busy running all the time. Sure I would dress up for school dances, but that was one of those "special occasion" deals.

Recently fashion and I have become friends, though I do fall back on my jeans and hoodie days when I'm lounging around at home or having an off day. I lean towards simple with dark colors or edgy enough to be interesting, but thats not to say that I don't sometimes mess around with other styles.

I'm a huge fan of DIY's and when I finally get my hands on some studs and spikes...my clothing should fear me. I also want to slash the crap out of my shirts for some reason, though I've held back so far.

As for my non-fashion life, I'm majoring in Psychology and if everything is on track will be done in a year. My down time shows how much of a dork and or nerd I can be since I'm a huge gamer, especially role-playing games like Final Fantasy. I also read quite a bit, fence, like to run, am a huge movie buff, and wish to travel. Well, that's all for now.

Enjoy!

Sass & Bide

I just found the ss10 Tomorrow the Great collection by Sass & Bide and I am blown away. The pictures didn't look terribly exciting until I saw them blown up. I feel like these girls looked into my brain and picked out exactly the things I hadn't decided yet that I always wanted. Well let me tell you, I know now. I want all of their accessories. Their harnesses and capelets are incredible. I can't stop my mind from incorporating them into my wardrobe. Now, everytime I open my closet I will think 'Gee, these clothes all suck, because they aren't a killer leather harness or fur capelet'. Thanks a lot Sass & Bide. My clothes are officially less cool now.

And then, if it wasn't badass enough, they throw in a dress with sharks teeth.
I am pretty sure somebody is just messing with me now.

Some Inspirational Eye Candy

These are just a few of the things I have been loving lately. I cannot get enough sheer and lace and it seems I have been finding it everywhere these days. I suppose that's because I'm looking now, that's always the way isn't it?

(The first is unknown, the second is xavier brisoux, third and fourth are unknown, sorry)

Beep Bo Bop

Photobucket
I can't imagine life without a marvelous pair of oxfords. These were found in a local Billings thrift shop for about $4. Geek chic specs have sort of become white noise but with this outfit I feel they're a must. The giant black ring was 99 cents at a garage sale, who would throw out such a treasure?
Good day sweetlings,
Eli

Introductions continued..

Aloha everyone! Eli here,

My first obsession was the slip. As a small child I refused to wear anything but a slip and shiny black dress shoes. I successfully annoyed my teenage sister to the brink of insanity. This has sort of always been my way about fashion. Growing up in a small rural Montana town takes a real toll on your fashion ego. Country boys and girls don't really appreciate the Vogue mentality.

However as I've grown into my own I've realized that I obsess over clique fashion. The most attractive to me is the emo crowd. This was very much integrated into my wardrobe up until this past year. Now I tend to be attracted to neutrals, and play with shapes more than color. I leave the color to Maria ;)

I won't bore you to tears as my father would say and end this thing. I'm a psychology major and love the inner workings of the mind, especially my own! I love to sing, though I don't do it well so I confine my concerts to the shower. I absolutely adore movies, mostly old. So if you have any suggestions do tell!

Ta-ta my loves,
Eli

Introductions

Maria speaking.

I have only really gotten interested in fashion in the last two or three years. I actually used to make fun of Eli for reading Vogue when we were in high school. Now I understand what all the fuss was about.

Dissatisfied with my wardrobe, I started refashioning clothes that I already had and finding candidates for reinvention at thrift stores and garage sales. I almost never shop retail, so I won't be much help in that department. I find clothes and pictures that I find inspirational and attempt to recreate them with my own unique twist.

I am a bit of a magpie and I am attracted to shiny objects. Sequins, metallics, studs, and spikes all call to me with their sweet siren song. I also enjoy leather, fur and feathers (all secondhand or vintage). Above all, I want my clothes to be interesting. Sometimes that doesn't work out as fashionably as I could hope, but it's always interesting.

Anyway, I am a pre-med senior, so anatomy related clothing appeals to me a great deal. I sing and play guitar, fence, read a lot, and am becoming increasingly addicted to jewelry.

I don't own heels higher than an inch because I think they are uncomfortable and I look like a zombie when I try to walk in them.

I don't understand people's obsession with hand bags.

I have a tendency to hate a trend when it first comes onto the scene and then after being bombarded by blog after blog I find that maybe it's not so bad after all. I doubt I will ever love jumpsuits though.

So, I guess that's what you need to know about me for now!
